Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare is a Great British beauty brand, which was founded in 1995. Spaceway has been working with Liz Earle for many years and this is the fifth warehouse the specialist has fitted for it.
The project brief
Liz Earle’s new warehouse facility accommodates in excess of 35,000 square feet of storage and manufacturing space. Based not only on design, but cost as well, Spaceway was awarded the contract to supply a new narrow aisle high bay pallet racking system along with a huge steel partitioning wall to divide the storage area from the manufacturing area.
The warehouse installation
Spaceway installed a narrow aisle racking system that is worked by a reach truck and two ride-on powered pallet trucks. The system stores more than 1,500 pallet spaces and the pallet racking follows the contours of the roof to maximise the desity of storage.
Once completed, a single skin steel partition wall was fixed to the rear of the single run of pallet racking down the middle of the building from floor to underside of roof. This was installed for a number of reasons, including the fact that there were lots of personnel working in the manufacturing area so it needed to be kept at an ambient temperature. Installing this steel wall assisted in maintaining that, and also reduced the amount of cross-contamination between the two areas as the manufacturing facility needs to be a very clean working environment.
The installation went extremely well. It was installed within the tight time frames required and Spaceway is continuing to work with Liz Earle on new projects.
