2015 brings a super start for Spaceway

Spaceway has started 2015 with a major industrial shelving and racking contract awarded by Ringwood-based Henderson Bearings.

The engineering parts and spares distributor has awarded Spaceway the contract to completely fit out its main distribution warehouse with a multi-tiered industrial shelving installation that will see the removal of out of date fixed racking systems. This will be replaced with over 4,500 fully adjustable industrial shelves each able to support 200kg in weight.

The installation will see  an increase of 80% in capacity for client stock, improved stock control, more efficient order picking and a much improved working environment for the warehouse staff. The shelving installation will be enhanced by using the latest LED lighting systems within the picking aisles. The LED lighting will reduce lighting costs by up to 60% and is estimated to pay for itself with in a 2.7 year period of use. The installation will start in February 2015.

Spaceway has also secured two other major contracts in the new year; one in Oxford for a large mezzanine structure to be used for additional production space and another complete office fit out, including glazed partitions and office furniture, in Southampton which will be project managed fully bySpaceway’s office interiors team.
