Spaceway keeps your project up to standard with latest building regulations

November 2016

Feeling cramped, a little hemmed in at work?

Often, existing workspaces are just not enough to fulfil your business needs – whether it is for extra storage or shelving, new desks to accommodate a growing team, or a bigger conference room for meetings.

You need more room to work, develop, create – more room to think.

That’s where our space solutions expertise comes to the fore. At Spaceway, our professional team of designers and project managers will provide you with a fresh perspective on your workspace layout and give your business a new lease of life.

And while it’s exciting to visualise a new interior layout, racking, glass partitioning or, even better, a new mezzanine floor, our customers don’t have to concern themselves with the often complicated, mandatory responsibility of adhering to building regulations.

By working with Spaceway, you can rely on our experienced handling of all aspects of your integrated workspace project.

We know all the ins and outs of the government’s Construction Design and Management laws, and all other building regulations, so that our customers have peace of mind. We work closely with building control officers and keep you abreast of our progress throughout.

What’s more, by using our expert services, Spaceway will handle all the official paperwork, saving you the extra costs and time involved in employing additional outside consultants.

Spaceway ensures that any recent changes to the building regulations are taken into account during the planning. Earlier this year, the Department for Communities and Local Government introduced amendments to the Building Regulations 2010, the Building (Approved Inspectors etc.) Regulations 2010, the Energy Performance of Buildings (England and Wales) Regulations 2012, Approved Documents L1A, L1B, L2A and L2B and the Party Wall etc. Act.

In line with the government’s targets for CO2 emission rates, one significant recent change is that the requirements to produce an energy performance certificate on construction have been moved so that all rules on energy performance certificates are now in one place.

So you can be assured, that from inception through to the final sign-off, Spaceway’s project managers and site coordinators will work to a concise schedule of works. Every detail, from the office electrics and air conditioning system to new windows and doors – or a whole new floor – is carefully planned and administered.

What’s more, we’re always mindful that you are running a business, and so we aim for minimal disruption to your work environment whilst our building work is under way.

Whether you are putting in a mezzanine floor, fitting out your office or warehouse or creating a new work layout, Spaceway will consult with the relevant fire officers, building control and health and safety consultants where required.

Our technical designs for heating, ventilation, energy efficiency, electrical safety and insulation are also regularly updated by referring to industry guidelines, and of course, we hold insurance cover up to £5m.

We pride ourselves in our hard-earned reputation as an industry leader in high quality workspace solutions and we welcome enquiries from anybody looking to expand their business in the safe hands of Spaceway.
